If you choose Sex Panther for your DJ name, you’d better bring a performance so wild it could get outlawed in nine countries. The emerging LA duo of Hotroxx and Aaron Cool will attempt just that every Wednesday at Club Nikki, as the new residents for the club’s industry night. Just remember, 60 percent of the time, they work every time.

Tequila is dangerous enough one shot at a time, but a whole nouveau Mexican dinner paired with tequila cocktails? That’s peligroso. On July 28, Border Grill and executive chef Mike Minor host a five-course Peligroso Tequila dinner with cocktails designed to complement the menu. Tickets are $150 per person general admission or $75 for members of Border Grill’s VIP club.

If you’ve been to Downtown arcade bar Insert Coin(s), you know the place has gamer chops, but next week the venue will likely be the watering hole of choice for attendees at Evo 2011, the conference at the Rio dedicated to fighting games in all their high-kicking glory. Insert Coin(s) will not only be sending a team to compete in the Evo tourney, it will also host the kickoff party on July 28 at 10 p.m.

When Insomniac Events began revealing details of its first Electric Daisy Carnival Vegas edition, the promoter stressed that the three-day EDM fest would give back to the local community with funds raised from ticket sales. On Wednesday, Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella saw that promise through, donating a total of $75,000 to three local organizations—Clark County School-Community Partnership Program, the Smith Center for the Performing Arts and the Injured Police Officers Fund. How’s that for a party with a purpose?
