What’s the best part of your job?

The people. The customers. Everybody who comes into Insert Coin(s) is real. Down to earth. Normally, when you think of Vegas nightlife, you think of tight-fitting T-shirts and buying bottles to look cool, but we don’t get that here. We don’t get the attitude.

Before Insert Coin(s) opened, what was your go-to Fremont East hang?

I have to admit, I didn’t really hang out on Fremont East before Insert Coin(s). I just didn’t know what it had to offer. But it’s great. It’s so far from the Strip—geographically and in terms of atmosphere. You can go down there in a suit or shorts and slippers, and nobody will look at you funny.

What games are most popular?

Mortal Kombat is No. 1. Sometimes, I see guys walking down Fremont with their own controllers, and I just know they’re going to be coming in and playing Mortal Kombat. Aside from that, the Joust machine and the House of the Dead machine are pretty popular. We have one girl who comes in specifically for Burger Time. She’ll peek in, and if the machine is free, she comes in. If it’s not, she doesn’t.
