If you’re building a new club in an old casino and you want the space to include an outdoor beer garden, a thumping nightclub, 17,000 square feet of rooftop greenery, a retail shop and a 24-hour restaurant, how do you make it all fit?

You get creative.

Chateau and Sugar Factory at Paris

That’s exactly what the owners of Chateau Nightclub and Gardens and Sugar Factory American Brasserie have done at Paris Las Vegas. The nightclub opens March 4 with a packed weekend that includes appearances by DJ Havana Brown, celebutante Kim Kardashian and a 125-karat, $1 million lollipop on Friday and DJ Samantha Ronson and Drake on Saturday. But that’s just one piece in a vast, connected complex that spans more than 70,000 square feet over three levels of the Parisian-themed casino.

At Strip level, the Sugar Factory store welcomes guests to a candy-colored world of sweets and celebrities. Along with the brand’s famous couture lollipops, the shop sells gelato, candied apples and apparel designed by Judy Swartz, the woman behind Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s fashion line. The attached Brasserie trades mirrored cupcakes for a European café aesthetic and glittery suckers for a 20-plus-page menu of dishes like banana-split waffles and pasta carbonara. A chocolate lounge tucked away off the main dining room specializes in extravagant fondues and dessert cocktails.

And that’s just the first floor.

The party starts on Level 2, at the top of a grand black marble staircase that rises from the casino floor. Designed to evoke the feeling of a French mansion, Chateau’s drama is in broad strokes and beautiful details—clusters of globes serve as lights above two bars, etched glass walls guard the VIP seating and black wood floors gleam luxuriously under crystal chandeliers. Upon entering, you immediately find yourself on the main dance floor facing a raised DJ booth set atop an impressive fireplace. You practically expect a wealthy Frenchwoman to sashay up and rest her cocktail amid the sculptures sitting on the molded mantel. Flanking the fireplace, a massive chair and armoire on stilt-like legs serve as whimsical, Alice in Wonderland-style go-go platforms.

The Sugar Factory (above), its American Brasserie and Chateau nightclub all open this weekend.

When you need a breath of fresh air, the Chateau terrace beckons. Past a backlit rendition of Monet’s water lilies, the outdoor beer-garden-by-day/club-patio-by-night, overlooks the Strip with garden party furniture, a separate DJ booth and a long bar offering 24 beers on tap. VIP booths come with gazebo roofs, striped settees and impeccable views of the Bellagio fountains. Perhaps best of all, the terrace has entrances direct from the Strip.

As if this indoor/outdoor playground didn’t offer enough to explore, come May, Chateau will grow a bit more with the opening of the Chateau Gardens, a 17,000-square-foot outdoor extension of the club that sits one floor up, right underneath the Eiffel Tower. The Gardens will turn the casino roof into an attraction in its own right and, together with Chateau and Sugar Factory, may transform Paris from Old World charmer to new-school nightlife destination.
