Bond prefers shaken; others favor stirred. Purists swear by gin, while some take their vodka extra dirty. Over the course of history, one thing is certain: The martini is irresistible.

The unmistakable glass and its contents have had their way with the hearts and hands of some of the most famous names in entertainment, politics and literature. And now, they even have their own holiday. June 19 is National Martini Day, and It’s About Time ($15) at the Wynn’s Lakeside is the perfect libation to celebrate.

It’s About Time—by master mixologist Patricia Richards—is a playful and elegant cocktail with rejuvenating qualities. It opens with the roundness of fresh apples with hints of ginger, followed by dry vermouth and a fresh, herbaceous finish. Shake it up for home entertaining or pair with something savory from Lakeside’s kitchen for an unforgettable Forbes five-star evening.
