Nightlife news & notes: LA Kings party hearty, happy hours at Ranch House Kitchen and more

The kings of Las Vegas? Last weekend they were the 2012 Stanley Cup-winning LA Kings, who descended on Vegas with trophy in tow to celebrate their victory over the New Jersey Devils. And man, can Lord Stanley party. The Cup and its keepers made the rounds, staying in a Fantasy Tower Sky Villa at the Palms, hitting Tao’s Worship Thursdays, partying poolside at Wet Republic, eating Cup-shaped cake at Hyde Bellagio and eventually heading to Score! at the Luxor. Perhaps the Kings’ local tour—and their warm, boozy reception—is a sign that Vegas should be hunting for an NHL team, rather than a basketball squad.

Badass new happy hour alert! Ranch House Kitchen (the country-fun restaurant we reviewed last week) now boasts two daily happy hours serving up serious deals on drinks and snacks. From 3-6 p.m. and 10 p.m. till close, RHK offers $3 cocktails, $3 domestics, $10 bottomless domestic drafts and $6 bar snacks. Town Square is officially happy hour Mecca. Proceed accordingly.

Think Casa Fuente is all about stogies and scotch? Not so much. On June 22-23, the Forum Shops cigar bar and lounge hosts its first Craft Beer Festival, featuring old favorites (Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, Magners) and rarer pours (Well’s Banana Bread Beer, Firestone Velvet Merlin). The fest is free to attend, and tickets for four-packs of beer run $20 from noon-6 p.m.
