‘The Addams Family’ at the Smith Center: ‘Birdcage’ meets ‘Halloween’
Wed, Nov 14, 2012 (2:20 p.m.)
Look, no one is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with the family. Get over it.
The Details
- THE ADDAMS FAMILY
- November 20-25, 7:30 p.m. (and 2 p.m. November 24 & 25), $24-$129.
- Reynolds Hall, 749-2000.
They’re creepy, and they’re kooky. Also they sing. The Addams Family musical opened on Broadway in 2010 … and then closed in 2011. Awful reviews. Yet, the show consistently played to full capacity houses and made a bunch of money. Now’s your chance to find out why.
The Addams Family touring production swings by the Smith Center this week. The plot? Birdcage meets Halloween. Wednesday Addams meets a (non-monster) boy and the Addams family must pull together to host a “normal” dinner for the boy and his parents. High jinks ensue.
The show was written and choreographed by Jersey Boys’ Marshall Brickman, Rick Elice and Sergio Trujillo, but you can get a ticket to The Addams Family for as little as $24. Come prepared to snap.
