Bryan Forgione is the new executive chef at Society Cafe Encore.

Bryan Forgione is taking over the kitchen at Society Cafe Encore as the new executive chef. The restaurant’s opening executive chef, Kim Canteenwalla, has moved on to focus on his new neighborhood restaurant Honey Salt.

Forgione, son of famed chef Larry Forgione and brother of Iron ChefMarc Forgione, has been in Society’s kitchen as chef de cuisine since 2009, when the versatile restaurant was named one of the best new restaurants in the country by Esquire. Prior to that, he was sous chef of Tableau in the Tower Suites at sister resort Wynn Las Vegas. Bryan Forgione also has worked at Union Square Cafe and Above at The Hilton 42nd Street, both in Manhattan, among other restaurants.

Since the new executive chef has been such a big part of the Encore restaurant’s success, it would be a surprise to see big menu changes at Society. In a statement released today, Forgione said, “It is an exciting opportunity for me to put some of my own signature touches on the menu through utilizing and supporting local and natural ingredients and integrating them onto the menu whenever possible.”

Society Cafe Encore is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night bites Sunday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m.
