As We See It

In Brief: Def Leppard drummer’s art, beer at the movies and more

Def art

Warhol, Picasso, Chagall, Def Leppard? The hard rock heroes will join the company of some of the world’s greatest artists next month with an exclusive exhibit at commercial art space Martin Lawrence Galleries at the Forum Shops. In honor of the band’s upcoming residency at the Joint, the gallery will display original works by drummer Rick Allen March 22-April 10. Allen’s debut collection features abstract photo-based images exploring how drum rhythms translate onto canvas. Allen will be on hand for live Q&As at the gallery March 28 and April 4. –Andrea Domanick

Movie magic

What if you could watch new releases with all the comforts of home: cold beer, a glass of wine, a chair that reclines for maximum relaxation? Galaxy Green Valley Luxury+ plans to bring just that kind of experience to Henderson when it opens on Sunset Road March 8. The eight-screen theater will offer beer and wine, reclining seats with powered footrests and a reasonable ticket price of about $10. The only thing missing? Being able to hit the pause button during bathroom breaks. –Sarah Feldberg

Digital diet

MGM Resorts just released its very own diet-conscious mobile app. Healthy Eating, Healthy You is available for free and features recipes by property and star chefs, complete with calorie counts and other nutritional information. That means Julian Serrano’s fare is feasible in your own kitchen—and this time, you know exactly how many calories are in that bacalao.–Mark Adams
