Nightlife news & notes: Pure Lounge opens, a new Light Group restaurant and more

Citizens is slated to open January 31, prior to Light Nightclub’s debut.

’Tis the season of club and party-pool job fairs. Believe it or not, bikini bashes are right around the corner, and that means dayclubs and pools—as well as a few new nightspots—are staffing up in preparation. If you’re looking for a job in the industry (or a different job in the industry), find casting info for Encore Beach Club, Hakkasan, Bare, Hard Rock, Marquee Dayclub and more at here.

Where will you eat this spring when you start stumbling out of Light late night? I’m betting on Citizens, the Light Group’s latest Mandalay Bay restaurant venture, slated to debut January 31. The restaurant will be open 24 hours, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner from the space formerly known as Red, White & Blue. The menu hasn’t been released yet, but I hear it will include American classics like corned beef hash, ribs and sandwiches along with signature Citizens doughnut breakfast sandwiches and one massive muffaletta. The six-person sandwich goes for $135, but if one really hungry diner can polish off the whole thing, it’s on the house!

Think you know Pure? The landmark Caesars club continues to innovate with the introduction of Pure Lounge in the former home of the Pussycat Dolls Lounge. Out are girls in fishnets, in is a chiller brand of nightlife that will open at 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday with a happy hour followed by live music by Canadian pop-rocker Suzie McNeil at 8 p.m. (9 on Tuesdays). It’s a Vegas lounge a la Pure, and it sounds like a damn good time.
