Valentino closing at Venetian

In the wake of recent news that two Venetian restaurants were shuttered this week, a Zagat.com article confirms that Valentino, one of the resort's most acclaimed dining rooms for 13 years, will close for good in June.
Restaurateur Piero Selvaggio said in the Zagat story that Venetian decided not to renew his lease this summer and would "eventually go with a celebrity chef concept." Over the course of its years in the Venetian's "restaurant row," Valentino has won numerous awards from Wine Spectator, Forbes and Bon Appetit, and chef Luciano Pellegrini is a James Beard Award winner. The 40-year-old original Valentino in Santa Monica, California, will remain open.
Officials for Valentino declined to comment. Officials for Venetian have not responded to inquiries regarding restaurant closings.
