At last, Umami joins the Vegas burger bash

Odds are your first bite at SLS will be at Umami Burger, the LA-based chain started in 2009 by former writer and wine pro Adam Fleischman. Umami quickly became famous for innovative, rich flavors, and upscaling the classic American burger joint with a full bar and waiter service.

Sound familiar?

Umami may have been revolutionary in SoCal, but the Strip has had this experience on lock for a decade. Burger Bar, BLT, KGB, Stripburger, Holsteins … the list goes on. Vegas has hugely popular homegrown burgeries, too, in Fukuburger and Bachi Burger, not to mention burgers conceived by celeb chefs Bobby Flay, Mario Batali, Gordon Ramsay, Michael Mina and Daniel Boulud. Umami is joining the baddest burger battle royale on the planet.

Does that mean we’re less excited about Umami Burger in Vegas? Absolutely not. We can’t wait to get that first big bite of its signature shiitake mushroom, roasted tomato and Parmesan crisp burger. Bring it on.

Umami Burger SLS, 702-761-7614. Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-2 a.m.; Saturday & Sunday, 8 a.m.-2 a.m. Opens August 23.
