The EDM backlash has produced more than a few “deep” and tech-house getaways, but nowhere has that recoil been more strongly felt than at After, the early-morning house event that not only books real house practitioners, but—per its infamous and viral list of DJ rules—bans the ones who aren’t. Since launching earlier this year, it has landed at 1923 Bourbon & Burlesque, where local DJs enjoy a freedom not typically afforded to them elsewhere on the Strip, and international underground talent stops on the way to the West Coast.
