Spring fashion: Don’t just smell the flowers, wear them!

It feels like a wake-up call. Spring—season of warm breezes, blooming flowers and fresh, vibrant fashions that replace winter’s utilitarian ware with energizing styles and bright, flirty accessories.

For our 2014 Spring Fashion Issue, stylist Nicole Chandler focused on lightening things up with wearable looks perfect for a day out with your best friend. Think easy fabrics, pastels, floral patterns and retro silhouettes like pencil skirts, wide-legged trousers and high-waisted everything.

“As for jewelry, the art deco revival, colored enamel, flowers and statement metal pieces have taken over,” she says. “The trick is to mix at least two of these trends when accessorizing.”

And to not be shy, of course. Pick a trend and rock it! Or, do as our models did and rock a few together. It’s spring, after all. Time to bloom.
