As We See It

Where’s the best place in Vegas for a quickie?

Shoot a selfie at the Little White Wedding Chapel, and it can be on your Instagram in under 4 seconds.

Psych! Only not really, because we’re talking about how fast you can upload selfies on your mobile device. If our special moments are shared in 10 seconds or less, it’s almost like our friends and families (and online stalkers) are there. But every landmark in Las Vegas doesn’t have the same mobile network speeds.

We know this because Global Wireless Solutions tested hot spots all over the city across the big four carriers (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile) to see where images hit social media the fastest. Then GWS used that data to create an interactive map of the top 21.

“Despite the old adage that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, people like to take selfies and share them with family and friends on social media, and it’s frustrating when they can’t—especially while enjoying the moment,” GWS President and CEO Paul Carter said in a press release.

According to GWS, the top five Vegas backdrops for selfie upload times are:

Little White Wedding Chapel (3.3 seconds)

Stratosphere Tower (3.5 seconds)

Mandarin Bar at Mandarin Oriental (4 seconds)

Ghostbar at Palms (4.3 seconds)

Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign (4.4 seconds)

No. 21, the rooftop VooDoo club at the Rio, may not seem that much slower at 12.4 seconds, but that’s time you could be spending actually having fun in Vegas instead of making sure the world knows it.
