THE DREAM ZONE

with Lauri Quinn Loewenberg

My husband and I were trapped in a grocery store during a hurricane and couldn't find our son. My daughter wasn't in the dream. It really bothered me. Can you give me some insight?

Chrissy, 30

Lauri: When someone is missing in our dream it often means we've "lost" touch with them on some level. How old is your son—old enough to have communication issues with him? Have you felt lately that what should be a relationship full of "emotional nourishment" (symbolized by the grocery store) has somehow been swept away (symbolized by the hurricane)? Your inner mind might also feel you aren't spending enough time with him and that's where the missing comes in. You "miss" him.

The hurricane says there's a lot going on in your life—either emotional turmoil or just way too many things to do with everything in a whirlwind. This dream is telling you to slow things down or at least calm down emotionally and find a way to reconnect with your son. Make the time you do have together quality time if you can't have a quantity of time.

Chrissy replies: My son just started kindergarten, so you're right. We don't have the time together anymore that we're used to.

ARIES
(March 21-April 20)

The Sun enters your opposite sign of Libra today, so for at least the better part of the month you're going to have to tone down your "my-way-or-the-highway" attitude. Libra is about sharing with others, specifically your spouse, sweetheart or business partner. Moon changes from Taurus to Gemini midday. Thus, relationship give-and-take should be fairly easy this week, anyway, because you sextile Gemini and it will allow you to ponder whether you really want to commit to someone after all. You might not. Love: tango, don't tangle; Career: hangin' in; Health: take a hike.

TAURUS
(April 21-May 21)

The Moon's in Taurus until midday Thursday, so make the most of it. The Moon in Gemini sextiles you, which should make you mellow enough to handle the Sun in Libra for a month. Libra is the other sign in the zodiac ruled by Venus, and squares you. It's a tad ambivalent for you. You want answers when you want them and you don't care for long discussions on the abstract. Frankly, people who "carry on," as you sometimes think of it, drive you mad. Love: yawn discreetly; Career: smile, nod and hold your tongue when they wave the red flag; Health: temper, temper.

GEMINI
(May 22-June 21)

You start off the week with the Moon in Gemini Thursday at about 1 p.m. and a fab trine with the Sun, which enters Libra Thursday. It's actually an air-sign festival this weekend, what with Mercury having gone into Libra on Tuesday, and the Moon in your sign trining Jupiter in Libra on Saturday night. It's the perfect moment for a party of like-minded, civilized individuals getting together to dish the latest books, fashion and media hype. That is, unless you've got other plans, like taking Venus up on a Scorpionic mating ritual. Either way, you should have a ball. Love: grown up; Career: it rocks; Health: cooler.

CANCER
(June 22-July 22)

From the weekend through Tuesday the Moon, your planetary ruler, is in your sign. As they say in astrology, it's in its "joy," and so will you be, especially as Moon trines Venus and sextiles Mars on Monday. With the love planet still in Scorpio, you should be floating on a misty, perfumed cloud by now, your usual cautionary tale all but forgotten. Your life's been about self-protection, but I defy you to stay in your brittle little shell over the next few days, as a burnin' hunk o' love blows you away. Love: grab it; Career: wing it; Health: feast.

LEO
(July 23-Aug. 23)

You can get a lot accomplished this week, especially on Tuesday, as the Moon in your sign sextiles the Sun on Tuesday and conjuncts Saturn and sextiles Mercury on Wednesday. Those are two solid, karmic days in which to pitch a new creative project or convince someone that they should partner with you, since Sun and Mercury will be in Libra, the sign of relationships. This would also be a good time to get down on one knee and bring out a ring, or ask your significant other to move in. Hey, go crazy; do both. Love: bon chance! Career: lucky; Health: comfy.

VIRGO
(Aug. 24-Sept. 22)

A combination of Moons in Taurus and Gemini conspire to help you in the career department. This duo sets up opportunities to network and schmooze your way into a good job or a creative partnership, since the Moon and Mercury are now in Libra, sign of relationships. You'll automatically be drawn to the right people who can help you further your ambitions, so suit up and show up for that luncheon or business meeting you thought would bore you. Instead, you'll be galvanized into action and the results could be major upward mobility. Love: in the fast lane; Career: be available; Health: Focus on prosperity.

LIBRA
(Sept. 23-Oct. 23)

Clever Libra experiences an exquisite Thursday through Saturday, trining both the Sun and Mercury today through the weekend in friendly air sign Gemini. Friday's a great day, with Moon sextiling Saturn (in Leo) and trining Neptune (in Aquarius) for success and cherished dreams. Saturday combines Moon and Jupiter (also in Libra) for a windfall of love and money that happens once every 12 years and often leads you guys to the altar or the bank (to make a big deposit). Love: arrives with fanfare; Career: heady; Health: try not to contain your joy.

SCORPIO
(Oct. 24-Nov. 22)

Venus is still in Scorpio, while just about everything else is in air —Libra and Aquarius—and Mars is in Taurus, which squares you and clouds what you think should be perfectly clear. Still, disturbingly sexy love is in the picture until October 7, so make the most of a dark, dramatic opportunity that comes your way between Sunday and Monday, when the Moon in fellow water sign Cancer lubricates a steamy situation. You'll have fun flirting with danger. (Get out the Muddy Waters.) Love: handcuffs, anyone? Career: can't-miss; Health: be safe.

SAGITTARIUS
(Nov. 23-Dec. 20)

The Moon enters Leo on Tuesday and sextiles the Sun that evening, and an old friend may drop out of the sky. Since Moon conjuncts Saturn in Leo and sextiles Mercury in Libra Wednesday, no doubt you'll be going at it like a couple of magpies, stirring up some hot air. Take a break early Thursday morning when Moon squares Venus. You'll want your rest as later that day Moon trines Pluto, squares Mars and sextiles Jupiter. Phew. Even Sagittarians on their own can expect to have a barrel of fun this week. Love: arrives on time; Career: you're much needed; Health: take short naps.

CAPRICORN
(Dec. 21-Jan. 20)

Saturday through Monday morning could prove dicey for you, as Moon opposes you in Cancer. Caps are stoical, and with Venus now in Scorpio to boot, that much angst and insecurity brought on by the temporary waterfall could annoy. You detest whining and hand-wringing. To avoid this, you might try waiting out the time with a Virgo or Taurus. You'll find things pleasantly manageable in the company of these two friendly signs, or conversely (thanks to Venus), find yourself in a spontaneous, earthbound orgy. Love: a drama queen; Career: on track; Health: ditto.

AQUARIUS
(Jan. 21-Feb. 18)

Things are so charming for you right now, and if it's one thing Aquarians like, it's light amusement. The Sun enters chummy air sign Libra today, and Mercury went into that sign this past Tuesday. So you're all about cucumber sandwiches, dining alfresco, Mozart, and talk of astronomy, astrology and higher mathematics, cheek-brushing and friendly hugs. The only zinger in the equation is pesky Venus in Scorpio, who's still hanging in there, making you think lustful thoughts. What a bother! Love: oh, bring the toys, just in case; Career: you may be asked to travel; Health: apply quality care.

PISCES
(Feb. 19-March 20)

You finish the month on a good note, since the Sun's moved out of your opposite sign, Virgo, and into Libra. Libra and Pisces are complimentary, though you're water and Libra is air. You usually form a bouncy bubble, but right now things could steam up, with Venus still in sexy, dramatic Scorpio. I don't know about you, but it sounds divine to me. Have a ball flirting, and be sure to enjoy playing Shamu, even if you're just a reef-variety blowfish. Love: hide-and-seek's a fun game; Career: attend to it now and then; Health: super!
