Mash-Up

Girls, Guys Go Wild

Sure, looking at Rehab photos the day after is always fun, but haven't you always wondered what those booties and breasts looked like when they were shaking around? And we're just talking about the muscle-guys. Wonder no more and surf over to
NapkinNights.com where the inexhaustible Tracy Lee is now putting up video montages of everyone's favorite bacchanal. No wonder we can't get any work done around here. And while we're on the subject, word just came to us last night that NapkinNights has expanded to yet another city: Seattle. That brings the grand total of Lee's empire to six. While other folks in town endlessly trumpet their expansion to some burg at the other end of I-15, leave it to Lee to keep tales of her own success humbly hidden.

Maybe It Wasn't So Vivid

Vivid, the nightclub at the Venetian that replaced Venus and Taboo Cove (a.k.a. the Tiki Room), shut its doors with little fanfare last month, and the industry that had turned out to mourn the passing of Teatro barely turned its head. Aside from a wonky location, the club—co-owned by the Ark Group and Vivid Video, the adult film company—was never able to promote appearances by Jenna Jameson and the rest of the Vivid Girls stable because the Venetian felt they wouldn't suit the resort's elegant image, say sources. While folks connected to the club were hesitant to reveal future plans, a want-ad in this week's Weekly describes the next tenant to be The Fine Theater, an interactive theater and bar. From the casting call, it sounds like the venue could be a Beacher's Madhouse-type attraction. It looks like our April prediction of the next nightlife wrinkle being more interactive entertainment is coming true!

Hail the New King

Over the Memorial Day weekend (we only went out one night and we're still in recovery mode), Tiesto, one of the world's top DJs, was honored with a memorabilia case outside of the Hard Rock's Body English. His display—with a pair of turntables, a flat-screen TV showing clips of him spinning, his MTV Europe video award, and photos—replaces the one for DJ Paul Oakenfold, the resort's first honoree.

Mixed Media

Ubisoft's first foray into basketball video games, the upcoming And 1 Streetball, will feature an added bonus: DJ Green Lantern. The hip-hop star will be seen in center court, mixing and scratching to each game. The game goes on sale Wednesday but in the meantime you can download a free 30-minute mix from RealPlayer's music store at
http://musicstore.real.com.

COCKTAIL o' the Week

The Blouffant

$9.95, The Luxor

Ingredients

1.5 ounces Absolut Vanilla Vodka

1 ounce Cruzan Banana Rum

1 ounce sweet & sour

1 ounce pineapple juice

1 ounce orange juice

0.5 ounce blue curacoa swirled on top

Garnish with a jelly bean spear

With summer's triple-digits finally here, smart drinkers search out cocktails with plenty of fruit juice to keep those all-important vitamin and electrolyte levels up and the Blouffant fits the bill. It's available all around the property, which means as soon as you finish it, you'll likely have wandered close to somewhere else you can buy another one.
