I dreamed the house next door was on fire and would soon catch on to my house. I ran to collect my kids, who are 14 and 16, but in the dream were five and seven. My wedding ring and watch were still in the bathroom. I tried to open the bathroom door, but flames shot out, so we climbed out the window. My mother was outside telling me she never really liked the house anyway. – Judy, 44, North Carolina

Lauri: House fires almost always point to a nervous breakdown. A fire consumes a house just as stress can consume a person. Your dream is showing you that you are close to a breakdown, which is why it was the neighbor’s house, not yours, on fire. Your kids’ ages in the dream are most likely a time reference ... to nine years ago. You are trying to collect and save who you were back then. And that’s where the watch comes in. It represents the passage of time. The wedding ring may point to your marriage. Is it in danger right now? Your mother says she never liked that house. Is there something that your mother doesn’t like? The dream suggests you are in a situation you need to get out of in real life.

Linda replies: All I can say is WOW! You really hit it! Amazing! I am completely stressed out because of marital problems. I definitely feel ready for a breakdown! I’ve been married eight years, so it’s the time before I married this man. Interesting! And my mother is very worried about me!
