SIMPLY EDITORIAL

A fond farewell to a valued colleague

Last week Las Vegas Weekly said goodbye to its outstanding Editor in Chief Scott Dickensheets. Scott is moving on to a career in freelancing, in which he will no doubt excel.

Scott was with the Weekly for several years. As great an editor and writer as he was, these things were eclipsed by his integrity and industry. He always put in long hours and made sure that we put out a top notch magazine every week.

People of Scott's quality are hard to find and just as hard to replace. However, Greenspun Media had the foresight some years back to install Stacy Willis as Scott's right hand woman. Now Stacy assumes the lead role. It's a perfect fit. Stacy is very much in Scott's mold (though immeasurably more attractive -- sorry Scott, just dealing with the facts here). She is highly capable, always gracious, and she knows how to get the job done. And she has the respect of all her colleagues.

So while we have indeed lost a valuable member of our staff, readers of the Weekly can look forward to the magazine retaining its high standards. And I'm sure Stacy will put her own stamp on it -- as well she should.

All of us at Greenspun Media wish Scott the very best for the future. And we welcome Stacy to her new role and look forward to this new era of the Las Vegas Weekly.
