True Island BBQ

This is our first and only place to eat the cooking of Guam, a U.S. protectorate in the middle of the Pacific. Meats are cooked on an open flame, and dishes like Nana’s sesame chicken (deep fried) and meaty short ribs are delicious with the island’s specialty red rice, and the tangy house cabbage salad. Chicken kelaguen, served cold, is exotic and unusual. 9550 S. Eastern Ave. 492-9494. Mon.-Sat., 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
