Think of it as a hip hunting ground for up-and-coming talent, like Shontelle, who’s quickly becoming kind of a big deal and performed recently. This week, production duo Dr. Hollywood is in the house, and Kim Sozzi stops by October 21 in support of her Billboard dance-chart-topper “Feel Your Love.”

Wondering what Surrender is going to do when the temperature drops? The club known for seamlessly partying indoor and out will keep using the pool area at night, with some cool adjustments. Portable heaters will be spaced throughout, alongside heated cabanas and bungalows. If folks still have goosebumps, custom Surrender blankets will also be available. The big news, however, is that the middle pool of Encore Beach Club will be transformed into a dance floor with a six-figure price tag slated to be unveiled Halloween weekend. The club’s indoor area is also receiving an upgrade, in the form of a new laser system courtesy of lighting guru John Lyons.

Dang it. There go our winter Sunday plans. Nove Italiano’s High Society dayclub ended its run October 10, leaving our tummies grumbling in disappointment. Alas, we’ll just have to gorge ourselves on champagne and cupcakes at home. Anyone up for starting a letter-writing campaign to bring it back as a daytime destination until the pools open again?

If it’s out with the old at the Palms, then it’s in with the new. The Harlem Room at Rain was unveiled this week—perhaps a first step in the club’s rumored December makeover? The bar area alcove opposite the main entrance has been transformed to reflect all things Harlem—the liquor, not the NYC neighborhood. Accents include upholstery resembling the Dutch liquor’s logo, Sputnik-esque chandeliers and a lighted order to “Proost!” (“Cheers” in Dutch). You don’t have to drink Harlem at this bar, but it helps get you into the spirit.
