By now, you've probably already read the obnoxious (though somewhat unsurprising) text exchange between a Hakkasan club promoter named Peter and a prospective patron named Zoe, as first published on Jezebel.
Short story even shorter: Zoe wants a comped table for a bachelorette party at Hakkasan on Calvin Harris night; club promoter wants pictures of her crew, because, "We don't comp anything ugly." Promoter calls women "whales" and "hippos." Righteous indignation ensues.
And today, as reported in the Las Vegas Sun, Hakkasan Group President Nick McCabe released a statement emphasizing that the promoter’s texts do not reflect the nightclub’s policies:
“Hakkasan Group prides ourselves on providing our guests with an unmatched level of customer service. The statements made by this individual, who has since been suspended pending further investigation, do not represent our corporate policy or our views. This type of attitude and communication is totally unacceptable, and while we cannot control every piece of communication between our thousands of staff and guests, we will not tolerate anything less than impeccable customer service."
