The Garage The LGBT crowd is no stranger to bar theming, but never has a concept been so well executed locally as it is at this University District tavern, adorned in car-racing drag, with its bar staff sporting mechanic shirts.

Mob Bar The Third Street drinkery always felt a little speakeasy-esque, but the former Sidebar literally spelled things out once it moved up the street, complementing both the nighttime options at the adjoining Downtown Grand and the gangster vibe established at the Mob Museum across the street.

Frankie’s Tiki Room The champion of Vegas theme bars, in our estimation, this Downtown-adjacent dive is impeccably designed, from the tiki statue that greets incoming visitors to the straw-roofed lounge hut in the corner and the bathroom wallpaper featuring Polynesian-inspired albums. Add a tiki mug to your rum cocktail and you might as well be in Bora Bora.
