Cocktails may come and go, but Hakkasan’s Iron Rose ($18) is definitely here to stay.

Bar manager Hien Truong first created the libation in October to acknowledge National Breast Cancer Awareness month and honor women fighting the disease and in remission. The rose represents all that is feminine and delicate, while the iron symbolizes resilience, and that duality is reflected in the ingredients Hien chose, too. He began with the classic Sex in the City-style Cosmopolitan, then tweaked it, opting for silkier Absolut Elyx and adding Grand Marnier for robust, bold character and white tea for a ladylike touch.

The Iron Rose has received such rave customer reviews that starting this week, it’s been added to Hakkasan’s more permanent Strength & Grace signature cocktail menu.

Recipe:

2 oz. Absolut Elyx

½ oz. Grand Marnier

½ oz. lemon juice

½ oz. simple or rock candy syrup

1 ½ oz. Silver Needle White Tea with white cranberry and raspberry

2 dashes lemon bitters

lemon twist (garnish)

Method: Combine all ingredients in a Boston shaker with ice. Shake and double strain into martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
