The Shandy is typically a libation that walks hand in hand with summer, but our atypical desert fall allows it to stay in season throughout the year—at least at Dom DeMarco’s. The pizzeria’s versatile Italian Shandy ($9) is described by co-owner Albert Scalleat as “the perfect complement to a cool, autumn day on our patio.”

Italian liqueur Aperol and fresh basil make this Shandy stand out as a delightfully herbaceous, highly refreshing concoction with an orange and green color combo that instantly sparks pumpkin patch nostalgia. Drink it as an aperitif or pair it with one of Dom DeMarco’s October specialty pizzas benefiting various Las Vegas non-profits.

Ingredients:

½ oz. Aperol Aperitivo Liqueur

6 oz. wheat beer

1 oz. fresh lemon sweet and sour

4 oz.  lemon-lime soda

slice of orange (garnish)

basil leaf (garnish)

Method: Pour ingredients in a Collins glass. Stir and garnish with the orange slice and basil leaf.
