Hot Spots: Tritonal at Marquee, a beer fest at Lake Las Vegas and more

Texas trance: Austin-based Tritonal hits Marquee this weekend.

Opening of Double Barrel Roadhouse We all love being first, right? Score some bragging rights at this new Strip-side watering hole, which officially opens its doors at Monte Carlo’s new roadside plaza Friday night. Created by the same people behind Bellagio’s Hyde nightclub and lounge (and the forthcoming SLS), Double Barrel features an eclectic mix of American cuisine, “strong” drinks and live entertainment. Get that Instagram account ready. March 7, 11 a.m., free.

Spring Brew’s Best Hand-Crafted Beer Festival at MonteLago Village Spend your Saturday sipping some quality suds lakeside at the hoppy fundraiser, which benefits local nonprofit New Vista. The lineup features regional heavy-hitters like Firestone Walker, Left Coast and Uinta, with the local brew scene represented by Banger, Big Dog’s, Boulder Dam and more. March 8, 2 p.m., 1 p.m. (VIP), $30 general admission, $40 VIP.

Champagne Brunch: Sexy Pajama Party Edition at Lavo We’d tell you to just jump out of bed and head down to Palazzo for some mimosa-heavy daytime debauchery, but this is a sexy pajama party. Plus, liquid courage doubles as liquid motivation, as the first 100 ladies in sexy PJs get a free glass of PJ (Perrier-Jouet) Champagne. In the booth: DJ C-LA. March 8, doors at 2 p.m., free.

Opening Day at Encore Beach Club Encore’s chlorinated carousal starts early and in earnest this Saturday, and the current weather forecast is 75 degrees and mostly sunny. You might not score a tan, but you’ll get a party, especially with Jay Z DJ Jus Ske musically directing it. March 8, noon, $22 men, $12 women.

Tritonal at Marquee Name-check a trance act and you’re already probably thinking of the Netherlands, which is the China of trance-DJ breeding, or some other Euro club capital, but surely not rootsy, blues-y, twangy Austin, Texas. And yet, Dave Reed and Chad Cisneros of Tritonal, prolific creators of ethereal, blippy, surging synth anthems, hail from the Lone Star State capital, as likely to be Texan heroes as General Santa Anna. By trading in their lassos for glow rope, they’ve helped make Austin a dynamic American culture hub, and on Saturday, they’ll perform at another one—Las Vegas. March 8, 10 p.m., $40 men, $20 women.

Green Lantern at XS Despite its latest success as an American EDM destination, Encore still occasionally books DJs with a knack for identifying slow-and-low breakbeats and chest-beating rhymes that move dancefloors—like Atlanta hip-hop and open-format jock Green Lantern (aka James D’Agostino), who knows what the public wants thanks to his radio pedigree and his adaptability to music trends—be they trap, dubstep or even EDM. March 9, 10 p.m., $30 men, $20 women.

Wine Bar Happy Hour at Terra Verde Ever cozy up to an enomatic machine, which makes drinking wine a lot like (and even more fun than) the by-the-ounce experience at your local fro-yo spot? Terra Verde inside Green Valley Ranch makes it fairly affordable and enables some post-workday steamblowing. Buying a $10 enomatic card gets you $20 in credit, good for sampling 32 international wines at volumes of your choosing. We went small and managed a prolific running of the wine bar’s interactive taps. You, conversely, may choose to blow your allotment on savoring an Italian varietal. Or you may eschew wine altogether—cocktails start as low as $6, and specific appetizers are half-off as well. Monday-Friday, 5-7 p.m.

Greatest Party on Earth at 1 Oak Find some three-ring fun at the Mirage nightspot on Tuesday, when the big top comes to life with performers, (stuffed) animals and “sexy clowns.” DJ Clinton Sparks serves as the circus ringmaster, playing both host and his beats. March 11, doors at 10:30 p.m., $40 men, $30 women.
