Fans of Palazzo wine and whiskey bar Double Helix won’t have to traipse through the casino anymore to sip on international booze flights, sample cheese plates and take advantage of their daily happy hour 3-6 p.m. The popular lounge recently opened a location at Town Square, taking over the digs that formerly belonged to fellow wine bar the Grape. And DH isn’t stopping there. This fall look for a new concept dubbed Bottles and Burgers at Tivoli Village. We’re betting it’ll involve fine wines and thick patties—the finer things in life.

While locals might consider Las Vegas a wonder of the world, Palazzo’s Azure Luxury Pool celebrates one of the new seven wonders on Thursday with a cocktail competition honoring the 100th anniversary of the Macchu Picchu rediscovery. Using Macchu Pisco brand pisco—a strong brandy-like liquor that’s Peru’s national liquor of choice—top local bartenders will create variations on the classic pisco sour cocktail for a chance to represent Las Vegas against other city winners in the final battle in Lima, Peru. The contest kicks off at 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

July Fourth weekend kicked off at XS last Friday with a packed house bumping to the sounds of Montreal-born DJ A-Trak (little bro of Chromeo vocalist David Macklovitch). Beyond his musical cred, A-Trak is also a fashion world figure with endorsements from Circa and Zoo York and a toy with Kid Robot. And the artist lived up to his stylish reputation, ditching the T-shirt and jeans DJ uniform and taking over the Encore club in a full tuxedo that channeled James Bond’s Vegas alter ego. That’s one classy Canadian.

Advanced notice: If you missed Cee Lo doing his thing with Travis Barker and Mix Master Mike at Marquee a few weeks back, you can catch him July 15 at Wet Republic for Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Presents Swarm the Strip. The event serves as a coming-out party for Jack’s new honey liqueur-blended whiskey and a concert with big man Cee Lo doing his thing at the MGM party pool. Tickets are $15.
