Hey, (day)party people. Pull on your flip-flops and head straight for Wet Republic! The MGM Grand dayclub, one of the first to take nightlife into the light, will close three weeks early this year to prepare for a major remodel as part of the Grand Renovation, a cross-property update that will transform the poolside colony in time for Summer 2013. Wet Republic, which opened in April 2008, will say goodbye the way good friends always should: with a final blowout. DJ Danny Avila conducts the closing ceremonies on Sunday, September 23.

And because there’s never a dull moment in Vegas, the latest casino shake-up comes courtesy of the Palms. The hotel’s nightclubs and marquee restaurants are now under the same ownership as the rest of the building. Last week, Palms majority owner F.P. Holdings announced that it had bought the company that owns venues like Rain, Ghostbar, Moon, The Palms Pool & Bungalows, Nove Italiano and N9NE Steakhouse. We see some sweet renovations in the near future.
