It was a huge President’s Day weekend in clubland. Besides the usual holiday weekend rush, XS cycled through some 7,000 people on February 15 for its Kaskade-headlined fifth anniversary party—a significant pull, though hardly the record breaker. Last Labor Day weekend, the Encore club saw 10,000 pass the velvet turnstiles throughout a Sunday night skippered by David Guetta.

Meanwhile, on Sunday Marquee did the daylife equivalent of an online commenter posting “first!” with its winter pool party. Some 5,000 people braved the temperature-controlled dome currently sitting over the dayclub patio like a giant Corningware lid. It was the third event in 12 hours at the Cosmopolitan danceteria, which hosted Cash Cash for Saturday prime-time, then transitioned into the club’s second-ever afterhours event featuring hot-sh*t house DJ Jamie Jones (who returns May 25). Marquee kept the party going into the night, with Cosmo headliner Bruno Mars singing a couple of his less-obscure ditties.

Victor Drai, who says “the mega-clubs have become nothing more than large music venues for million-dollar DJs,” will open his less-EDM-y 65,000-square-foot Drai’s Beach Club and Nightclub at the Cromwell on Memorial Day weekend.

After just began selling T-shirts listing its DJ “rules” mission statement. Tees for both women and men are on sale at afterlasvegas.com/shop for $25.

And fans can vote through February 28 for their Strip resident faves at beatport.com/awards, for the Beatport Awards. Winners will be announced on March 7.
