Speaking of the Nightclub & Bar convention: If you wanna skip the chatty panels and glassware exhibits and advance to the real fun, the platinum parties include Nightclub & Bar 2014 chart-toppers Marquee (with DJ Carnage and host Christina Milian, March 24), Hakkasan (Calvin Harris, March 25) and XS (David Guetta, March 26). Also on March 24: Ludacris performs at the Paradise Pool at the Hard Rock Hotel, rebranded the Bud Light Hotel during the convention.

Sun-pushing party After is slowly filling its calendar with international house DJs who don’t frequent these parts much, if ever. Some choice bookings include Scottish tech-house slanger Harvey McKay (March 29), Dutch house fave Tom Trago (April 5), Berlin duo Andhim (May 24) and German techno icon Stephan Bodzin (July 26). However, one upcoming headliner who recently performed in Las Vegas is Frenchman Sébastien Léger (April 12), whose set was the lone standout at the otherwise musically banal Sensation megaparty in October.

Celebspotting: American Hustle’s Amy Adams wound down from the awards circuit on March 14 with stops at both Hakkasan’s restaurant and nightclub. Earlier that day, she joined Wet Republic’s opening day, also attended by Clark County Commissioner Mary Beth Scow, who declared Friday Wet Republic Day. On March 16, Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas threw its VIP opening night, with nightlife royalty Pasquale Rotella (EDC) and wife Holly Madison, among others, catching joint performers Elvis Costello and The Roots.
