DJ Mag’s Top 100 poll continues to raise questions: Can winners effectively buy votes? Are rankings truly indicative of a DJ’s popularity? Can Daft Punk place when it’s not actually gigging? For better or worse, agents and nightlife professionals still use it to gauge bookings and DJ contracts, and this year Hardwell, a Hakkasan headliner, captured the top spot for the second year in a row. Duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike (which performs for Light Group) scored second, and former list-topper Armin van Buuren (a Marquee loyalist) ranked third. In all, six Hakkasan exclusives landed in the top 15, including new local Steve Aoki. Another local, 3LAU, debuted at No. 81.

Speaking of polls, Nightclub & Bar Magazine has opened its own revenue-based top 100 survey to voting. Nightlife venues of any size may participate at nightclub.com/top100 by December 8. Results will be announced in January.

Drai’s Beach Club and Nightclub’s Yacht Club promo, which recently ended its season, has morphed into Country Club—and moved downstairs. The Tuesday night industry party now takes place in the Drai’s After Hours basement venue—the first time it will host prime-time entertainment since 1997, when the original Drai’s restaurant briefly experimented with nightlife—and encourages attendees to dress up in argyle pants, pleated skirts and polos. “We are channeling Bushwood [country club from Caddyshack] and putting our own Drai’s twist on it,” says Managing Partner Ryan Craig in a statement.

Electric Daisy Carnival producer Insomniac will give $30,000 each to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada, the Emergency Medicine Resident Research Fund and the Injured Police Officers Fund on October 27 at the Linq Fountain Stage. Insomniac’s Charitable Giving Initiative has donated $325,000 in the four years EDC has been staged at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
