Going for the hat trick? Markus Schulz recently took the title of DJ Times‘ America’s Best DJ contest for the second time in three years.

Founding resident DJ of Marquee Markus Schulz has been crowned America’s Best DJ by DJ Times magazine for the second time in three years. The readers’ poll crowns an American DJ every year, though no one can win consecutively. (Schulz also won in 2012, while fellow Marquee resident Kaskade snapped up the gold-plated Pioneer mixer in 2011 and 2013.) Schulz’s official coronation takes place at his Vegas home club on October 12. Wynn exclusive Diplo nabbed second place, while Light loyalist A-Trak came in third.

Tiësto will enter the rotation of music icons featured at the Fountains of Bellagio as of September 17. The Dutch EDM icon and Hakkasan DJ is not only the first electronic dance artist to get his own segment in the water show, he’s the first act to receive an assist from the attraction’s creator, WET Design, which will add new visual elements to the three-song medley Tiësto has mixed for the display.

Underground Sundays at Life have added some choice, seldom-in-Vegas bookings, including Claude VonStroke and Green Velvet (September 21), Jamie Jones and Lauren Lane (September 28), Apollonia (October 12) and Hot Since 82 (November 9). Additionally, three dates associated with Pete Tong’s residency have been announced, the BBC DJ hosting Underground returnee Cirez D (October 5), Seth Troxler (October 26) and Sasha (November 23).

In this week’s rooftop revelry news: Downtown Grand’s Picnic will operate past its usual 7 p.m. closing time during televised-football nights (Thursday, Friday and Sunday). Over at Paris, Chateau will now market its outdoor Deck to more casual partiers with a relaxed dress code and various drink/bottle/open bar specials Thursday through Saturday, from 9 p.m.-3 a.m.
