It’s arguably the most stressful week of Fox’s hit reality show American Idol—Hollywood week, the point in the show where contestants get little sleep, cramming to wow the judges with solo and ensemble performances. And up until last season, Hollywood week occurred in ... Hollywood. Starting with the 10th season of Idol, Hollywood week is being replaced with—oh, let’s call it Vegas Week. The 60 remaining contestants competed at the Love Theatre at the Mirage last week, performing Beatles songs for the judges. No word on the stress level (we’ll have to wait until January to find out), but talk about a publicity boost at a time when Vegas desperately needs it.
