Pickle throwdown Watch professional eaters chomp through pounds of pickles for cash and glory at Carnegie Deli’s sanctioned Pickle Eating Contest. Come early to watch members of the Weekly staff compete against their counterparts from sister-pub Las Vegas Magazine. We’ll try to avoid “reversals.” May 13, 4 p.m. (pros), 3:30 p.m. (us), free. Elvis Costello & the Imposters Tired of seeing the setlist before the show? Not a problem with this one. Elvis’ Spectacular Spinning Songbook will do the choosing, right before your eyes. May 13, 8 p.m., $65-$113, the Pearl.

Lauryn Hill You never know when the Grammy-winning former Fugee will vanish from the scene for a year or 10. In other words, there’s no time like the present to see her in concert. May 13, 8 p.m., $55, Cosmopolitan pool.

The Whigs Still riding the wave of their “we have arrived” third album In the Dark, the Southern trio brings its increasingly nuanced, literate garage rock to the Cosmo. May 18-21, 10 p.m. & midnight, free, Book & Stage.

CAC Juried Show This 22nd installment of the Contemporary Arts Center’s annual juried exhibit is drawing raves as one of the gallery’s best-ever. See work from Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis and beyond. Through June 18.

Smallville finale After a decade on the air, the popular series finally allows Clark Kent to become Superman as it says goodbye. Plus, fan favorite Michael Rosenbaum returns as Lex Luthor. May 13, 8 p.m., the CW.

Helldorado Days Yee-haw! The 77-year-old Las Vegas institution celebrates western heritage with a five-day fiesta, complete with rodeo events, a carnival and Saturday’s parade. May 12-15, times and locations vary, lasvegasnevada.gov.
