Hundreds turned out to help the D break the record for the largest speed-dating event—Well, that and to maybe find a date.
I arrived for the D’s Date-a-thon to find a line of potential love-connection candidates along the Fremont Street Experience, waiting to take a seat for the casino’s attempt to beat the world record for the largest speed-dating event. It was interesting to observe how individuals interacted across from each other, connections clearly being made in some cases, with the $1 drinks keeping people relaxed. I circled the crowd, making images as I looked for that certain spark. Carl Dobbins and Jessica Kruze stood out, as dramatic gestures turned to hand kissing and soon to her toes in his mouth. I don’t know where the night led those two, but they certainly appeared to be enjoying one another’s company.
