It's been a long year of streaming events and muted arts openings, but on April 2, the First Friday art walk and street festival makes a tentative return to the Arts District in Downtown Las Vegas. From 5-10 p.m., the area immediately surrounding the Arts Factory and Art Square (including First Street, Boulder Avenue the Art Square parking lot) will once again welcome artists, art installations, food trucks and live entertainment.

There are caveats: Temperature checks will be taken at the door, capacity within the art walk will be limited to 250 guests at a time, food and drink must be consumed within their designated area ... and it probably goes without saying that masks are required on everyone, at all times. Even with distancing measures in place, things might get a bit crowded at First Friday, so be ready for that if you decide to go.

That being said, the rewards of April's First Friday event speak for themselves. There will be works from featured artist Eric Vozzola, whose recent works can be found at Meow Wolf, Area15 and Circa; a site-specific art installation by Jef Logan, displayed in Boulder Plaza; Custom Pizza Truck, the largest mobile pizza operation in the country, serving up pies as fast as you can eat them; two stages of continuous, acoustic and small-amp live music and more. And it probably goes without saying that the Arts District's galleries, shops, bars and restaurants should all be open for business, and awfully glad to see you back.
