Artist KD Matheson creates paintings of an almost alien intensity. Possessed of a moody sci-fi ambiance—but not in a jumpy pop-culture kind of way—his pieces relocate the viewer from this mundane existence to an exotic mindscape that is partly familiar while being wildly new.
