Big gossip question of the day is if “Extra” host Maria Menounos will be at the side of three-time “Dancing With the Stars” pro-dancer champion Derek Hough when he celebrates his 27th birthday at Tabu Ultra Lounge in MGM Grand on Saturday night. If so, would it confirm that they are more than friends and are now dating?

Whatever the answer, it is now official that “Le Reve” choreographer and “DWTS” pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy is serious in the romance with fellow pro Peta Murgatroyd. Despite kissing and cuddling at Encore Beach Club here during the 2012 Memorial Day Weekend, the couple denied any love match. But now they’ve come clean.

Peta, who hails from Australia and recently watched “Dancing With the Stars: Live in Las Vegas” at the Tropicana, just won Season 14 partnered with Donald Driver of the Green Bay Packers.

What is the bad blood and why the big grudge between two female stars on the Strip? They used to be BFFs, but now a rivalry at separate shows has surfaced, and sparks are flying. Watch for changes to be made to one of the glamour girl’s shows as a result.

WYNN’S NEW X-SHAPED HOTEL: Hotel mogul Steve Wynn says his new Macau casino starting construction next month will be in the shape of an X to shorten the walking distance for guests. Steve promises to spend nearly $100 million for the hotel’s front fountains water attraction, outdoing the one he created when he owned the Bellagio. “The biggest of all,” he said.

He also told MacauBusiness.com that he’s consulting with Cirque du Soleil billionaire Guy Laliberte on a new show at the Wynn that also could play in Macau. It’s unclear whether that would go into Encore Theater when his solo stars aren’t performing, or replace “Le Reve,” which could alternate in Macau.

11-YEAR RUN ENDS: It’s an amicable exit. After 11 years at his AMP Salon in the Palms, hair guru to the stars Michael Boychuck will depart there at the end of June. Michael is opening Life Salon by Michael Boychuck near Red Rock Resort in Summerlin. Lifetime operates 100 U.S. locations, and this is the company’s first tie-in with a star stylist with his own branded salon.

“I am grateful to George Maloof and the wonderful run we enjoyed at the Palms,” Michael told me, confirming the departure amid many changes at the casino resort. This weekend also is the final one for The Playboy Club. Michael continues with his Strip salon Color at Caesars Palace without interruption.

GOODMANS’ GOLDEN: One week from today (June 6), our beloved mayors Oscar (former) and Carolyn Goodman (current) celebrate their golden wedding anniversary -- no small achievement in this day and age of dizzying divorce rates and where politics come with strange bedfellows, so hearty congratulations to the wonderful couple!

I’m penning this shout-out now to ensure that nobody forgets about the special day and hope that they are recognized for their dedication and contributions to our city and their love for each other. If you see them celebrating at his signature Oscar’s Steakhouse at the Plaza, be sure to buy him a Bombay Sapphiremartini! Congratulations from all of us at Vegas DeLuxe.

SURPRISE WEDDING? The fast-paced romance between Kim Kardashian and singer Kanye West is racing along with such intensity, don’t be surprised if the multimillionaire couple show up together here Sunday, and who knows with those impetuous power couples if they have a surprise runaway Vegas wedding.

Kim is set to make her first solo appearance at Kardashian Khaos at the Mirage on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. to launch her perfume True Reflection. Fans can buy a $150 package, which includes a meet-and-greet photo opportunity with the reality TV star, a souvenir photo, a pink Kim Kardashian tote, a bottle of True Reflection and a three-bottle set of her previous fragrances Love, Gold and Kim Kardashian Signature.

NEW THEATER OPENS: Call it an underground speakeasy or a new, interactive, edgy performance theater. Blackbox Theater opens tonight at the Artisan Boutique Hotel with its show “Free Society” featuring artists, music and DJ sets. Expect African drummers, contortionists, body painters, piano players, synchronized swimmers and bondage performances because “Free Society” is a cultural carnival celebrating life and freedom of expression.

The show will feature special guests Lady Station with original Pussycat Doll Carmit Bachar, “DWTS: Live in Las Vegas” star Sabrina Bryan and performers from “Le Reve,” “O,” Jabbawockeez, “Peepshow,” “Zumanity,” “Absinthe” and Donny & Marie. “We are working with the most amazing talent in Las Vegas. There’s truly nothing like this anywhere. … It’s sexy, sophisticated and at times just a tad naughty,” said Blackbox partner Lena Giroux. The shows start at midnight and spills out to the hotel pool.

45 YEARS LATER: Hard to believe it was 45 years ago on Friday that “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” was released by The Beatles, their eighth studio LP that spent 27 weeks at the top of the U.K. album charts and 15 weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200. To celebrate, the cast of “BeatleShow” at Saxe Theater in Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile is cutting ticket prices to locals to just $15 in June.

Celebrities are flocking to Chippendales at the Rio ahead of Channing Tatum’s male stripper film “Magic Mike” in theaters June 29. With Joey Lawrence set to join June 7 for three weeks, “DWTS” stars Kym Johnson, Cheryl Burke and Carson Kressley had early VIP access while celebrating the bachelorette party for one of the “DWTS” producers. Scott Harrison snapped these photos of the trio backstage and helping out Chippendales dancer Nathan Minor.

“Top Chef Las Vegas” winner Michael Voltaggio hit the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma wine country for the Audi Sportscar experience racing against “Hunger Games” star Josh Hutcherson, model Coco Rocha and Foster the People frontman Mark Foster. Michael, who moved to L.A. after his Las Vegas success, closed his award-winning restaurant Ink there for the night to put pedal to the metal.

Surrender Nightclub at Steve Wynn’s Encore celebrates its second anniversary with a performance in the pool by “Le Reve” and Grammy-winning Skrillex spinning. It’s the one-night-only preliminary competition for the 2012 Miss USA Pageant at Planet Hollywood. Gilbert Gottfried starts a run at The Starlite Theater in the Riviera. And Dennis Blair, Butch Bradley and Tony Tone headline at The Laugh Factory at the Tropicana through Sunday.

An exclusive photo tour of the hillside paradise jungle “Amystica” that “Mindfreak” magician Criss Angel created at his estate Serenity, plus swimsuit and evening gown photos from the Miss USA preliminary competition and the party for Surrender’s second anniversary.
