In its effort to reach out to the Las Vegas art scene, the First Friday LLC has created a blog devoted to art in Las Vegas.

The Today Is My Friday blog, launched July 3, was created by artist and First Friday art liaison Justin Favela (its title is a spin-off of Favela’s Jenny Holzer-inspired piece at his CountyCenter exhibit).

The blog focuses on exhibits and events and provides links to galleries, museums and art-related media articles. It serves as an on-the-scene-style feed with photos and information.

Though in its infancy, Today is My Friday thus far includes information on several exhibits, including those at Trifecta Gallery, Brett Wesley Gallery, the Contemporary Arts Center, the Barrick Museum and Su Limbert's and Sierra Slentz' residency at Cosmo’s P3 Studio, as well as a time lapse video of the installation of the Next Exit: Route 66 exhibit.

Favela, who’s working on the project with two others, says he’ll be updating the blog a couple of times a week and may expand it to include music. Additionally, he'll be accepting information through an email provided on the site.
