For its post-lockdown debut, the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art returns with an exhibit spotlighting the art held by Las Vegas collectors.
Running November 12 through February 15, Always More: Collecting in Las Vegas displays a range of contemporary and 20th Century artists, including Pablo Picasso, Diane Arbus, Takashi Murakami, Helmut Newton; Cecily Brown, Robert Rauschenberg, Joyce Pensato, Lorna Simpson, Rosemarie Trockel, Kazuo Shiraga and more.
“Showcasing our community and its collections seemed to be a great opportunity for the reopening of Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art,” Executive Director of MGM Resorts Art & Culture Tarissa Tiberti said in a press statement. She co-curated the show with Las Vegas art advisor Heather Harmon. “As our co-curator, [Harmon] was able to weave her vast knowledge and passion for Las Vegas into every detail.”
The featured collectors are as impressive as the art. Viewers get a peek into the private collections of local luminaries: Elaine Wynn; two branches of the Fertitta family; UFC executive Hunter Campbell; movie poster expert Ralph DeLuca; Eureka Casino Chairman and CEO Greg Lee and wife Dana; Sandee and Tito Tiberti; and Robin and Danny Greenspun. Art from the MGM Resorts’s own Fine Art Collection rounds out the show.
“Las Vegas is a city rooted in history and culture,” Tiberti stated. “Art has been and continues to be an essential part of that story."
Always More: Collecting in Las Vegas is open Thursday-Monday (closed Tuesday-Wednesday) from 11 a.m.-6 p.m., with the last guests of the day allowed entry at 5:30 p.m. Admission costs $6.
