Events Guide: 2011 NASCAR Weekend in Las Vegas

NASCAR fans are racing into town for the 2011 NASCAR Weekend, and there’s plenty to do before and after the checkered flag drops. In addition to the races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, enjoy concerts, comedy shows, drink specials and driver autograph signings all over town.

Wednesday, March 2:

Dale Earnhardt Foundation Celebrity Poker Tournament: The Stratosphere hosts the Dale Earnhardt Foundation Celebrity Poker Tournament in the Theater of the Stars Showroom. Kerry Earnhardt, eldest son of Dale Earnhardt, will host the tournament. NASCAR fans can support the foundation by playing in the poker tournament with some of their favorite drivers; a $150 entry fee into the tournament will be donated to the Dale Earnhardt Foundation.

Tony Stewart taxi driving: Driving a street-legal #14 Mobil 1 Chevrolet stock car, NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is suiting up as a Las Vegas taxi driver for the day. Stewart will learn the ropes as a taxi driver, pick up surprised fans and interact with Las Vegas celebrities. Magician David Copperfield will be Stewart's flag man. Stewart will begin picking up fans at 1:30 p.m. at the MGM Grand Main Taxi Stand.

Red Bull Racing Team Party at Playboy Club: The Red Bull Racing hosts a Team Party at Playboy Club with NASCAR drivers Kasey Kahne and Brian Vickers.

Thursday, March 3:

2/28/10: Shelby American NASCAR @LVMS

NASCAR Hauler Parade: NASCAR hits The Strip when the Hauler Parade rolls down Las Vegas Boulevard.

Robby Gordon autograph signing: Come meet NASCAR driver Robby Gordon and get an autograph from the racer at the Carnival Court at Harrah's.

Jamie McMurray autograph signing: NASCAR driver Jamie McMurray will be signing autographs at Bass Pro Shops at Silverton Casino Lodge.

Matt Kenseth autograph signing: Wristbands will be distributed at 3p.m. to the first 300 fans to attend this autograph session with NASCAR driver Matt Kenseth. During the same night, the No. 17 Crown Royal car show will be located near Studio 54.

NASCAR driver autograph session: Come for a free driver autograph session in the Neon Garage at LVMS during NASCAR Nationwide Series testing. Admission to the speedway is free for this practice day. Drivers signing autographs include Trevor Bayne, Justin Allgaier, Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski, Mark Martin, Danica Patrick, Elliott Sadler, Kenny Wallace and Steven Wallace.

Victory Junction Texas Hold ’em Poker Tournament: Before the tournament at the Hard Rock Hotel, Kyle Petty and Ryan Newman will be signing autographs.

Tony Stewart autograph signing: NASCAR driver Tony Stewart, driver of the No. 14 Office Depot/Mobil 1 Chevy in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and team owner at Stewart-Haas Racing, will sign autographs for fans at Office Depot in North Las Vegas.

Jimmie Johnson Q&A session: Chris Myers of Fox Sports hosts a Q&A session with driver Jimmie Johnson at Sam’s Town.

Bill Engvall at Treasure Island: Blue Collar Comedy star Bill Engvall of TBS' The Bill Engvall Show will be performing his stand-up at Treasure Island Theater.

Drive-By Truckers at Silverton: Southern rockers Drive-By Truckers perform at Silverton Casino Lodge. Look forward to hits like "Never Gonna Change," "A Ghost to Most" and "The Righteous Path."

Brad Keselowski meet-and-greet: Driver for the Miller Lite #2 Penske Racing car, Brad Keselowski hosts a meet-and-greet at Sierra Gold at 215 and Jones.

NASCAR Nationwide Series Race practice run: Admission to LVMS is free for the Nationwide Series Race practice run. Cars will be on the track from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. Drivers will also be signing autographs from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Friday, March 4:

Fan Q&A with Las Vegas’ Kurt Busch: Fans are encouraged to come ask any questions of Kurt Busch in the Sprint Experience at LVMS.

Autograph session with Harry Gant: Driver Harry Gant will be on hand for an autograph session at LVMS.

Autograph session with David Reutimann and Regan Smith: Suncoast presents an autograph signing with NASCAR drivers David Reutimann and Regan Smith.

Autograph session with Bobby Labonte: NASCAR driver Bobby Labonte will be signing autographs at The Pub at Monte Carlo.

Michael Waltrip book signing: Michael Waltrip will sign copies of his new book In the Blink of an Eye at The Mirage’s Retail Promenade, located near Revolution Lounge, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Books will be available to purchase at the event.

Drink specials at Crazy Horse III: Patrons who present their NASCAR tickets during NASCAR Weekend will be eligible for complimentary cover and limousine transportation, along with their first drink on the house. For limousine transportation, call 702-673-1700.

Drink specials at Rockhouse: NASCAR fans will be able to quench their thirst after a day at the track at Rockhouse Bar & Nightclub. During NASCAR Week, attendees can flash their ticket stubs at Rockhouse and get complimentary cover and a free drink. Other specials include 2-for-1 beers, cocktails and $5 shots from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and beer pong competitions all weekend long.

Drink specials at Cabo Wabo: Cabo Wabo Cantina at Miracle Mile Shops hosts NASCAR viewing parties with specials on the Red Rocker’s famous Waboritas. Sprint Cup Series ticketholders receive 2-for-1 Waboritas.

Michael Waltrip Comedy Garage : NASCAR’s youngest multi-team owner Michael Waltrip will step out of his car and into the Terry Fator Theater at The Mirage to showcase his comedic personality in Michael Waltrip Comedy Garage. The two-time Daytona 500 winner will be joined by comedians Henry Cho and Jon Reep. At the end of the show, Waltrip will join Cho and Reep onstage for a 30-minute Q&A with the audience.

Greg Biffle and David Ragan Q&A session: Chris Myers and Jeff Hammond of Fox Sports host a Q&A session with Greg Biffle and David Ragan at Sam’s Town.

NASCAR driver autograph session: The NASCAR autograph session features Jeff Green, Jennifer Jo Cobb, Jeffrey Earnhardt, Matt Crafton, Eric McClure, Mike Bliss, Carl Long, Robert Richardson Jr., Dave Blaney, Mike Skinner, Timothy Peters, Michael McDowell, Charles Lewandoski and Timmy Hill.

Whiskey Breath at Rock & Rita's: After a day at the races, head to Rock & Rita's to listen to country and classic rock cover band Whiskey Breath and enjoy buy-one-get-one-free drinks.

Saturday, March 5:

Sam's Town 300 at LVMS: Watch all your favorite drivers race for the checkered flag in Sam's Town 300, part of the Nationwide Series.

13th Annual NASCAR Memorabilia Auction: Help the speedy as they help the needy. Bid on memorabilia from drivers at the 13th Annual NASCAR Memorabilia Auction and Ride of a Lifetime at the Sprint Experience at LVMS in the midway after the Sam’s Town 300.

Joey Logano appearance at Home Depot: NASCAR driver Joey Logano will be at Home Depot, 855 East Dorrell Lane.

Autograph session with Juan Pablo Montoya: The first 200 people in line at Deer Springs Town Center (North 5th St. and the 215 Beltway) are guaranteed to receive an autograph by Juan Pablo Montoya. There will be pit crew demonstrations from 4 t 6 p.m.

Autograph session with John Force: NHRA Funny Car champion John Force will be signing autographs at LVMS.

Uncle Kracker at Sam's Town: Country rock crooner Uncle Kracker performs at Sam's Town Live! inside Sam’s Town, home of the Official Sam’s Town 300 After Party. His hits include "Follow Me," "No Stranger to Shame" and "Smile."

The Marshall Tucker Band at The Orleans: The Marshall Tucker Band performs at The Orleans Showroom. Their hits include "Heard It in a Love Song," "Fire on the Mountain," "Can't You See" and "Take the Highway."

Sunday, March 6:

NASCAR Kobalt Tools 400: It’s the main event of the weekend, the Kobalt Tools 400 NASCAR race at LVMS.
