When, in the hazy aftermath of the inaugural Life Is Beautiful Festival, we asked founder Rehan Choudhry if his two-day music, food, art and learning fest would be back in 2014, the answer was a confident yes. And now we know when: Life Is Beautiful announced today that it will return to Downtown Las Vegas October 24-26, 2014.

“We could not be more excited for 2014,” Choudhry said via release. “The support we received from community leaders, corporate partners, Downtown businesses and, most of all, our festival fans made Life is Beautiful bigger than we could have ever dreamed in our first year. We are extremely confident that our festival, created to inspire people, will only grow stronger from year to year.”

Life Is Beautiful Highlights

Life Is Beautiful’s first edition, held October 26 & 27, 2013, drew a reported 30,000 people per day to a 15-block Downtown footprint, where crowds watched bands like Haim, Jurassic 5, Empire of the Sun and headliners Imagine Dragons and The Killers; sampled fare from celebrity chefs in the culinary village; listened to speakers; and wandered through an immersive art program that blanketed massive walls in murals and created mini-galleries in the rooms of a motel.

As for 2014, specifics have yet to be announced, but Choudhry said his team is ready to “push the limits in every way possible.

“We have some incredible enhancements and new surprises coming for year two,” Choudhry said.

The festival also quietly dropped its 2013 recap video on YouTube this morning. The 4:05-minute montage set to Empire of the Sun's "Alive" features paint guns, slow-motion makeouts, Beck head bobbing, Choudhry hugging, cooking, crowd surfing and lots of the energy that made year one a surprisingly well-rounded success.

Ticket prices and on-sale dates for the 2014 edition have not been announced.
