Concert on-sales: Bob Dylan, John Carpenter, Flying Lotus (in 3D!) and more

Last October, we got a performance for the ages when legendary folk-rock musician Bob Dylan played an intimate show at the Chelsea the same day he won the Nobel Prize in literature. Now, almost a year to the day, Dylan & his band return to the Cosmopolitan on Saturday, October 14. Tickets cost $39 to $266 and go on sale Friday, August 25 at 10 a.m at ticketmaster.com.

The man behind the haunting and iconic Halloween theme song, legendary film director and composer John Carpenter, will hit the road in this fall, launching his new tour in Las Vegas at the Joint at the Hard Rock on October 29. The tour follows the October 20 release of Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998, a collection of 13 classics newly recorded with a slew of collaborators. Tickets are $25-$125 and go on sale Friday, August 25 at 10 a.m. at axs.com.

Paul Shaffer, the singer, composer and comedian who served as David Letterman’s musical director and band leader, will perform an exclusive three-week residency at Cleopatra’s Barge at Caesars Palace on select dates through December and January. Tickets range from $49 to $149 and go on sale Friday, August 25 at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.

Following his show’s successful debut at this year’s FYF Festival, experimental electronic producer Flying Lotus will bring his new 3D live performance to Brooklyn Bowl at the Linq on October 26. Tickets are $32-$35 and go on sale Friday, August 25 at noon at ticketfly.com.

Also performing at Brooklyn Bowl, the Trey Anastasio Band stops in Las Vegas for two nights on October 27 and 28 ($45), and the pop-punky Front Bottoms return to Brooklyn Bowl on November 11 with special guests Basement and Bad Bad Hats ($23-$28). Reggae-rockers Common Kings round out Brooklyn Bowl’s new additions with a show on Friday, November 10 ($28-$45). Tickets to all three go on sale Friday, August 25 at 10 a.m.

Country-rock icon and Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh has rescheduled his September dates at the House of Blues for November 16, 18 and 19 ($89-$350). Latin-pop duo Sin Bandera also plays House of Blues, on Thursday, October 5 ($55-$110). Tickets to both shows go on sale Friday, August 25 at 10 a.m. at livenation.com.

Bust out your short skirt and long jacket. Genre-spanning NorCal band Cake plays the Chelsea at the Cosmo on Thursday, October 5. Tickets start at $25 and go on sale Friday, August 25 at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.

Country superstar Shania Twain returns to Las Vegas in 2018 for a performance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on August 4. Tickets cost $55 to $180 and go on sale Friday, August 25 at 10 a.m. at axs.com.

The So You Think You Can Dance Live Tour stops in Las Vegas on November 17 at the Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms. Tickets are $40-231 and go on sale Friday, August 25 at 10 a.m.

Seattle-based indie-electronic duo Odesza plays the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on Saturday, October 21. Tickets are $50 and go on sale Friday, August 25 at 10 a.m.

And 311 fans have declared March 11 as 311 Day, and to celebrate, the alternative rock band is performing at the Park Theater at Monte Carlo on March 10 and 11. Tickets, which provide access to both shows, start at $150 and go on sale Thursday, August 31 at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.
