The Pearl had long been the only major casino concert venue without a resident performer. That changes Memorial Day Weekend, when the Palms’ 2,500-seater debuts “Kings of the Weekend,” the new Vegas-exclusive show by pop-punk titans Blink-182.
The Southern California trio has signed up for an ambitious 16 dates at the Pearl, beginning May 26 and 27. The band will play consecutive weekends in June and October through November. Tickets ranging from $59 to $169 go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, March 23 at Ticketmaster.
Blink-182, once fronted by co-founder Tom DeLonge but now featuring Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba on vocals/guitar, has been an alt-rock radio staple since 1997 with singles like “All the Small Things,” “Dammit,” “What’s My Age Again?” and “Stay Together for the Kids.” It released its seventh studio album, California, in 2016, and its subsequent tour featured graphic design work by local artist and musician Brett Bolton.
