During a sunset party tonight on the Strat’s famous observation deck more than 1,100 feet above Las Vegas, the north Strip resort announced its latest entertainment offering, a headlining musical residency from rock singer Sammy Hagar set to open October 29 in the Strat Theater.

Sammy Hagar and Friends will launch Halloween weekend featuring the former Van Halen frontman performing with former Van Halen bassist and longtime Hagar collaborator Michael Anthony, plus guitarist Vic Johnson, drummer Jason Bonham and other surprise special guests.

The first shows are set for October 29 and 30 and November 5 and 6.

“I’ve been searching the Las Vegas Strip trying to find the right room, ambience and partners to create a very special Cabo Wabo birthday bash-type environment for my band members and musician friends to create the ultimate party residency,” Hagar said in a statement.

His restaurant and bar brand, Cabo Wabo Cantina, is located on the Strip in front of the Miracle Mile Shops at the Planet Hollywood resort.

The residency is the second show announced for the Strat Theater since the resort recently partnered with SPI Entertainment to operate the 600-seat venue. Magician Xavier Mortimer will open his all-new show The Dream Maker on July 1.

"Sammy is one of the greatest rockers of all time and has some of the most devoted and passionate fans,” producer Adam Steck of SPI Entertainment said in a statement. “This is going to be an epic rock 'n' roll party experience with all of his hits from Montrose, Van Halen and his solo career. We couldn’t be more excited.”

Hagar’s show will begin at 9 p.m., with ticket prices starting at $100 when they go on sale to the public on July 1 at tickets.thestrat.com. Sammy’s Fan Club members will have access on June 29 at 10 a.m., and Strat True Rewards members will be able buy tickets on June 30 at 10 a.m.
