Looking to go to Oz on the cheap?

While a number of tickets are still available for performances of Wicked at the Smith Center, a lottery was announced today for discounted orchestra seats for each show throughout the Broadway musical’s month-long run.

The lottery for the $25 tickets, which usually run from $85 to $161, begins two and a half hours before each performance, when interested parties (with photo IDs) can place their names in a lottery drum at the Smith Center’s box office. The winning names are drawn 30 minutes later (two hours prior to the performance), and each winner is offered two tickets and must be present with a photo ID when their name is drawn.

The Smith Center first offered a ticket lottery in 2012 during another national tour of Wicked, which served as the inaugural show for the performing arts complex’s first full-length Broadway Las Vegas series. A lottery was also offered for this summer’s The Book of Mormon, another highly acclaimed and widely popular Broadway hit.

Those looking to secure tickets to Wicked, which runs on select dates from October 8 to November 9, can purchase them right now at thesmithcenter.com—at press time, open seats for various performances ranged from $45 to $161.
