You’ve got to be kidding us. In a town where branding is everything comes news that the Las Vegas Hilton, which will cease to be a Hilton at the end of the year due to a license termination from the hotel chain, will likely change its name to LVH Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. Wow. Seriously? Let’s begin with the fact that you’re now saying “Las Vegas” twice in the name of your hotel. But even if you can overlook the redundancy, what does the “H” stand for? Clearly it means “hotel,” unless it’s a sneaky way for the new owners to imply the hotel is still “Hilton”? We’re happy the hotel will survive and that everyone will keep their jobs, but this name is the equivalent of going to bat with two strikes.
