What's in a name?

The Nevada Gaming Control Board gave its blessing to the renovation of the old Lady Luck Hotel and Casino. If the application is approved by the Gaming Commission on February 23, a $100 million renovation will transform the hotel into the Downtown Grand. The name change makes perfect sense to us—with the resurgence of the Downtown area, helped immensely by Zappo’s involvement, attaching the name “Downtown” to anything seems the shrewdest business move possible.

A Suge thing

Marion “Suge” Knight is in trouble again. The former head of Death Row Records was stopped for an unsafe lane change last week, after which officers found less than one ounce of marijuana in his possession. Knight had three outstanding warrants for traffic offenses, a pretty good indication that he needs to brush up on that whole driving thing. And, it seems, on that whole stashing weed in your car thing.

Unhappy meal

In news that should surprise absolutely no one, someone eating at the Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas had—wait for it—a heart attack. What’s most shocking is that it’s the first in the chain’s history. One meal tops out at 8,000 calories. Why don’t they just change the name of the place to “Burgers of Death”?
