A few big dates in Las Vegas music history

    • January 27, 1990

      Slaughter releases Stick It to Ya on Chrysalis Records. The Vegas outfit’s debut album gets certified double-platinum by May of the following year.

    • August 15, 1998

      “Comin’ Back,” the fifth single off Vegas—the debut full-length from Vegas-bred duo The Crystal Method—hits No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Club chart.

    • May 2, 2004

      The Killers play the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, holding down a daytime slot in the smallest tent one month before first album Hot Fuss is released in the U.S. Five years later, the quartet headlines the fest’s main stage.

    • February 8, 2007

      Panic! At the Disco appears on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Two years later, two of the four musicians in the photo exit the band, leaving singer Brendon Urie and drummer Spencer Smith as the sole full-time members.

    • July 16, 2012

      Imagine Dragons play single “It’s Time” on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. The foursome is set to release debut album Night Visions on September 4.
