That Nasty Thing consists of Ruston Chidester, Francis Paul Piper, Louie Mendez, and Austin Lee. It's started with some in-house jams, progressed onto the stage, and later into the recording studio for a self-produced album.
One day, guitarist Chidester spotted the letters "TNT" on his guitar cabinet, and he knew he had it. He threw the letters T-N-T at his band mates on his way to the bathroom.
When he came out, they filled in the blanks and a hot new band was formed: That Nasty Thing.
Fast forward to two years later and what has emerged is a group of young, talented musicians rocking the Las Vegas valley with a thumping blend of funk, alternative, rock, western and even jazz.
The group, comprised of Las Vegas natives ranging in age from 24 to 18, have rocked several venues in the Las Vegas Valley, including Freakin' Frog and Zia Record Exchange, Matteo's Underground in Boulder City and countless house shows.
Their infectious songs, dubbed as "jam sessions gone right," have made them a local phenemonon with a burgeoning and loyal fan base. They have worked for over three months to complete a marvelous, self titled debut.
In short, TNT is exploding.
