Next Tuesday, the all-new-look topless cabaret Fantasy will be unveiled at the Luxor to coincide with its 10th anniversary on the Strip. I’m telling you ahead of time because the invitations go out today! Back on Sept. 21, I reported that former Baywatch star and nude magazine model Angelica Bridges has joined the cast -- click HERE for that story -- but now I can confirm that a second singer is being added to the show, Katie Dix. Katie gets the new full-time gig after being the rotating swing when previous headliner Stephanie Jordan enjoyed her days off from the seven-nights-a-week show.
I’m also told that new dancers and routines will debut next week. Producer, director and choreographer Anita Mann arrives in Las Vegas today for the final week of rehearsals. To celebrate the 10th anniversary, a special coffee table book has been collated from photos taken over the decade. It replaces the annual, sexy calendar, and guests will get a sneak peek at the hardcover a week from today.
*Congratulations to Jersey Boys producers, writers and cast members for their Original Cast Recording. The Recording Industry Association of America certified the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons platinum this week, commemorating sales of 1 million copies in the U.S. The album won a Grammy for Best Musical Show Album in 2006. Since its 2005 debut, Jersey Boys has become one of Broadway’s biggest success stories in recent years. The musical, which plays here at the Palazzo, won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 2006 and the Olivier Award for Best New Musical in 2009.
*Congratulations to chef Kim Canteenwalla at Steve Wynn’s Encore for his innovative American restaurant Society Cafe being named one of the Best New Restaurants in America by Esquire. The award is recognized in the November edition but was announced yesterday. It is the only Las Vegas restaurant to receive this honor this year. The annual list is written and compiled by renowned food writer John Mariani. “I’m delighted and humbled that Esquire selected Society as a place that stands out on the dining scene,” Kim said. “There are many great new restaurants, and we’re thrilled to be acknowledged amongst this distinguished group.”
Partners Sean Christie and Elizabeth Blau’s Society Cafe has become a favorite with celebrities, some returning for as many as three meals a day. When visiting, Ozzy Osbourne and family make it their permanent eatery, and Excalibur headline comedian Louie Anderson dines there at least twice a week.
*Thanks to Paris Hilton who tweeted a link from her Twitter page to our Vegas DeLuxe story yesterday. Then she added a link to my Twitter account, and within an hour, more than 250 of her fans signed on to follow us, as well! Tweeting has become such a rage, it’s little surprise that Caesars Palace will host its first Vegas Trick or Tweet weekend during Halloween. Free treats will be found all over the casino resort via Twitter clues, ending up in Pure with Paris’ younger sister, fashion mogul socialite Nicky Hilton, who celebrated her 26th birthday yesterday.
